Bellini's was founded in the Spring of 2003 by Giancarlo Marletta and Nader Iweimrin, life-long friends. Both children of immigrant families, they shared the same values and passion when it came to their love of food, family and good times. They spent a great deal of time looking for the ideal location for their upscale Italian restaurant. They insisted the location reflect the atmosphere reminiscent of the days past. At the time, downtown Lexington was plagued with condemned buildings and boarded store fronts and very few fine dining establishments. Giancarlo and Nader knew this location would be a challenge, but felt the abandoned Italianesque building would be the ideal setting for their vision of a classical Trattoria. Belini's assumed a building lease in downtown Lexcington in the historical Skuller's building. Initially, Bellini's occupied 1750 square feet and the first year of business acquired a solid customer base.Executive Chef, Andy Myers, was born in western Kentucky, where he learned his mother's southern hospitality.
