In 1941 a family tradition for serving authentic soul food in Oakland, California emerged, when Henry & Wilma Dorsey launched the first family restaurant in West Oakland, supported by his close knitted family.The business relocated in 1956 to Bosn's Locker on Shattuck Ave. where a cocktail lounge was added to the Restaurant under the supervision of Clarence Dorsey, Tom Dorsey, Armstead Dorsey & Jack Dorsey.
