ScoreCard Rewards at Dick’s Sporting Goods
ScoreCard is the official rewards program at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Free to join, members can earn one point for every $1 spent. Once you rack up 300 points, you’ll receive a $10 Reward. Members get access to additional perks, including the following:
- Free shipping on orders over $49.
- Insider access to products & deals.
- Faster checkout when shopping online.
- The chance to earn bonus points.
The rewards program is generally easy to use, and one of the smartest ways to save, but points that haven’t been converted to rewards will expire one year after they’re earned.
“The smartest way to use ScoreCard is to think in increments of 300,” says Diane Lourmas, veteran savings analyst at CouponCabin. “If a purchase puts you close to a $10 reward threshold, it can make sense to bundle planned purchases together instead of splitting them across multiple trips. Hitting that reward faster helps you turn points into savings sooner.”
ScoreRewards Credit Card at Dick’s Sporting Goods
To maximize your savings, shoppers can sign up for the ScoreRewards credit card. There are two credit cards to choose from: the ScoreRewards Credit Card or the ScoreRewards Mastercard, which works anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
“Before applying for the ScoreRewards card, shoppers should estimate how often they buy athletic gear each year,” says Lia Berman, savings analyst. “The card delivers the most value for families regularly purchasing team sports equipment, seasonal footwear or outdoor gear. If purchases are occasional, stacking ScoreCard rewards with sales may offer similar savings without opening a new line of credit.”
The ScoreRewards Credit Card can be useful for frequent shoppers because it earns two points for every $1 spent at Dick's family of brands, including Golf Galaxy and Public Lands. The Mastercard option adds one point for every $3 spent anywhere Mastercard is accepted. To stretch the order further, check for Golf Galaxy coupons and Public Lands offers before relying on rewards alone.
That's not all. Here are a few extra perks that come with the store's credit cards:
- Cardholders earn 10% back on qualified purchases.
- Cardholders also get free shipping on order over $49.
- There’s no fee to apply either online or in-store.
- Shoppers get an annual $10 reward every year.
- Shoppers can plan 3X Points Days for themselves.
- There’s a dedicated customer service line for cardholders.
- Cardholders get access to everyday special financing.
How Members Can Maximize Their Savings
Now that you know about the various options for earning rewards at Dick’s, here are practical ways rewards members and cardholders can maximize their savings:
Lock in points faster and avoid missing purchases.
Use eRewards (email rewards). Rewards typically arrive within about 2 weeks after reaching the 300-point threshold when eRewards is selected.
Always enter the ScoreCard number at checkout. If a purchase does not get attached, eligible purchases can be added within 90 days if you contact the store.
Don’t let points sit too long. Points that have not converted to a reward expire within one year.
Use Gold status strategically.
Qualify for ScoreCard Gold. Gold status can be earned by making $500 in qualified purchases in a calendar year, or by using a ScoreRewards card to make at least one purchase in the calendar year.
Save the Triple Points Day for a big cart. Gold members get one 3X points offer per calendar year that applies to a single purchase, so be sure to use it on higher-ticket items.
If a shopper has the ScoreRewards credit card.
Watch for limited time point boosts. Right now, Dick’s lists 10% back in points (3 points per $1) on qualified brand purchases for cardholders.
Know that special financing can reduce rewards. The store notes that special financing purchases earn 1 point per $1 spent, not double points.
Make sure discounts and rewards are used the right way.
Choose a promo code or reward certificate, not both. Only one discount code or ScoreCard Reward can be applied per order, and promo codes cannot be combined with a ScoreCard Reward.
Build carts around reward certificate rules. Rewards are one-time-use, unused value is forfeited if the purchase is under the reward amount, and rewards are not redeemable for things like shipping, sales tax, gift cards or warranties.
If redeeming multiple rewards, shop in-store. Rewards redemptions are limited to 2 rewards per online transaction and 3 rewards per in-store transaction.
