Shipping fees can sneak into a Kohl's cart fast, especially when you only need one item. The store gives shoppers several ways around standard delivery charges, but each path has its own rules.
To save on shipping, choose the right checkout route before paying and always leverage Kohl’s coupons.
Kohl's currently offers free standard shipping when an online order reaches $49. No code is needed when the qualifying order meets the threshold.
Do not add random items just to cross the line. If you only need one low-cost item, free store pickup or in-store app ordering may beat padding the cart.
Free store pickup is one of the cleanest ways to avoid shipping. Eligible online orders can be picked up at a nearby Kohl's store, often with no minimum order.
Kohl's says pickup orders are usually ready within two hours when placed at least two hours before closing. Wait for the ready-for-pickup message before heading to the store.
Kohl's also offers free standard shipping when shoppers place an order through the Kohl's app while physically inside a store. This can help when the size, color or item you want is not on the sales floor.
Turn on location services so the app can recognize the store visit. Review the order summary before paying because oversized-item surcharges may still apply.
Kohl's sometimes releases free shipping codes during cardholder events, seasonal promotions or larger shopping periods. These codes can remove the delivery charge without meeting the usual threshold.
Before checkout, scan your Kohl's Wallet, email offers and CouponCabin. If a free shipping code is available, compare it against any percent-off code because promo stacking rules can change the final total.
Free standard shipping does not always erase every delivery-related charge. Kohl's says certain large or oversized items may include a shipping surcharge, and that surcharge is not eligible for discounts.
This matters most for bulky home items, furniture and select large products. Review the full order summary before paying so a surcharge does not wipe out the savings.

Hit the $49 free shipping minimum when the cart already justifies it, choose free store pickup for smaller orders, shop through the app while inside the store when that path fits, and scan for free shipping codes before paying.
