National Pi Day: How to Score Deals on Pizza, Pie & More

Last Updated: March 9, 2026

Food

National Pi Day may be about math, but for shoppers, it’s about so much more.

This year, National Pi Day falls on Saturday, March 14, 2026, inspiring local and nationwide deals on retail and food, most of which include delicious pizza and freshly baked pie! In honor of the holiday, we’re diving into the history of National Pi Day and how customers can score savings at popular restaurants, stores and more.

  • What is Pi Day?

Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant known as pi (π). According to Scientific American, pi is the ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of the circle. No matter how big or small the circle is, the ratio will always equal pi. Pretty cool, huh?

The value of pi is 3.141592653589793238, but when shortened to 3.14, it becomes clear why we celebrate National Pi Day on March 14 every year. Restaurants and retailers use this as an opportunity to offer savings, such as $3.14 deals and 31.4% discounts.

    When is Pi Day?

This year, National Pi Day falls on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Mark your calendars! We suggest looking for Pi Day savings in the week leading up to the mathematical holiday.

“Pi Day deals can look playful, but the smartest shoppers treat them like any other limited-time promotion. The strongest offers are often tied to rewards accounts or app ordering, so a little prep ahead of March 14 can make the difference between seeing a deal advertised and actually being able to redeem it,” says Sarah Williams, veteran savings analyst.

    Who has Pi Day deals?

Some of the most popular Pi Day deals include two of our favorite things… pizza and, you guessed it, pie! Pi Day deals are most commonly found at pizza chains, pie shops, bakeries, convenience stores and restaurants. We’ve seen offers for buy-one-get-one deals, discounted pizzas, limited-time rewards perks and free slices of pizza or pie with purchase. Be sure to look for those $3.14 specials!

We’ve also seen Pi Day deals applied to tech purchases in the past, including Dell, where shoppers could get 17% off around March 14. (3 + 14 = 17. Get it?) We’ve seen a Pi Day Sale at Lenovo as well, so keep your eyes peeled!

  • 2026 Pi Day Deals

This year, 7-Eleven has already announced a two-day Pi Day promotion on March 13 and 14 with $3.14 whole pizzas for 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards members, along with discounted quesadillas and pie at participating locations. Burger King is also getting in on the fun with a Pi Day offer for Royal Perks members, who can score a free Hershey’s Sundae Pie or Cinnamon Apple Pie with a $3.14 purchase on March 14.

We’re expecting to see deals announced at Blaze Pizza, Bakers Square, California Pizza Kitchen and Papa Johns, all of which have advertised Pi Day promotions in past years.

How to Score Pi Day Deals

The 2026 Pi Day promotions are still being released, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t prepare for the holiday. These tips will ensure you don’t miss out on deals:

    • Join loyalty programs early. Many Pi Day offers are reserved for rewards members, so signing up before March 14 can help you unlock special pricing, freebies or member-only coupons.

    • Download restaurant and store apps. A lot of Pi Day promotions are app-exclusive, especially at pizza chains and convenience stores.

    • Sign up for email and text alerts. Some brands announce Pi Day deals at the last minute, and alerts can help you catch limited-time offers before they disappear.

    • Check more than just national chains. Local pizzerias, bakeries and pie shops may offer one-day specials that are just as good as the big brands.

    • Look at grocery store ads. Pi Day savings can also show up on frozen pizza, bakery pies, take-and-bake meals and ready-made desserts.

    • Search for promo codes before ordering. A quick coupon check on CouponCabin can reveal an extra discount that makes a Pi Day deal even better.

    • Compare deals before choosing one. One offer might sound exciting, but another restaurant or store may have a lower price or a better value.

“The best Pi Day savings usually come from looking beyond the headline price. A $3.14 special might sound exciting, but shoppers should still compare portion size, add-on costs and whether rewards or promo codes can make another offer a better overall value,” says Jessica Hayes, our veteran savings analyst at CouponCabin.

    • Read the fine print. Some Pi Day promotions require a minimum purchase, apply only to certain menu items or are only available at participating locations.

    • Order early if possible. Popular Pi Day deals can lead to longer wait times, limited inventory or sold-out items later in the day. Order that pie ahead of time if you can.

    • Stack savings when allowed. Combining rewards and coupons can help shoppers get the most value out of a Pi Day purchase.
