Based on trends, 23andMe savings often appear during holiday events rather than as part of a constant discount cycle, and offers are usually presented directly on the site instead of relying heavily on promotional codes. Regular coupon codes are not a major part of the savings strategy, though the company does offer a referral program, special pricing for certain eligible groups, and a 23andMe+ Premium program. Overall, the promotions are more structured around seasonal campaigns and targeted offers than around ongoing savings.

Our Guide to 2026 23andMe Shopping Policies
How are returns managed at 23andMe?
23andMe's return policy is fairly strict and may not be ideal for shoppers seeking flexibility. Payments for kits and services are generally non-refundable, but shoppers have up to 30 days from the date of purchase to request a refund for an unused kit bought directly from 23andMe. Shipping, processing and taxes are not refunded, and the unused kit must be received within 30 days of the refund request. Once a sample is submitted or after 30 days from purchase, refunds are no longer available.
23andMe offers a straightforward shipping policy that benefits shoppers looking for quick and reliable delivery. Orders are processed fast, usually within 1-2 business days, and a range of shipping options are available for both US and international customers. Shipping costs are clearly shown at checkout and include delivery, return shipping to the lab, and sometimes customs duties, which adds transparency and value. Pre-paid return shipping for your sample is included, making the process easy and convenient.
23andMe offers discounts for verified military members, veterans, first responders, students, and teachers, which can make DNA kits more affordable. Eligible shoppers can receive free shipping and 10% off each additional kit after verifying through ID.me, though exclusions may apply, so terms should be reviewed to confirm eligibility.
23andMe's order cancellation policy is strict, allowing genetic kit or book orders to be canceled only within 60 minutes of purchase. If cancellation is not possible, unused kits may be returned for a refund within 30 days of the order date. Memberships and bundled upgrades are generally non-refundable, and partial refunds for unused membership time are not offered. This policy offers limited flexibility, so purchases should be finalized with care.
23andMe's loyalty program combines a premium membership with valuable health and ancestry insights and a referral program that rewards both current and new customers. Shoppers can benefit from exclusive reports and features with 23andMe+ Premium, while the referral program offers Amazon gift cards for sharing with friends and discounts for those referred, making it a solid choice for those interested in genetic testing and savings.
23andMe is known for offering significant Black Friday discounts, often between 50% and 60% off select DNA kits and services, making it a great time for shoppers to save on popular products. Sales usually happen in late November and sometimes include purchase limits. Shoppers can also find deals during other seasonal events like Labor Day, so it's smart to watch for these promotions to get the best value.
