Our continuous analysis finds that category-specific and sitewide discounts are promoted regularly at Shades of Light, with promo codes offered and sometimes featured in promotional campaigns. Most promotions appear as temporary homepage banners for limited-time offers, typically not requiring a code. Markdowns are a visible part of the savings approach, but no general consumer loyalty program is currently offered, showing a strategy that includes multiple discount opportunities.

Our Guide to 2026 Shades of Light Shopping Policies
Where do I apply a Promo Code at Shades of Light?
In the Cart at Shades of Light, find the Promo Code box in the upper right of the page. Enter your Promo Code, click Apply, and make sure the discount appears before checkout.
What should I know about returns at Shades of Light?
Shades of Light offers a fairly standard return policy, allowing most items to be returned within 60 days and sale items within 30 days, which gives shoppers a reasonable window for returns. Items must be unused and in original packaging, and you'll need to include the return form from your invoice. Shoppers should note that return shipping costs are not covered, though prepaid FedEx labels are available for a fee based on box size. Refunds go back to your original payment method but can take up to 30 days to process, and original shipping fees are not refunded. Damaged or defective items must be reported quickly, within 48 hours, for a replacement. While there's no specific warranty mentioned, Shades of Light encourages customers to reach out for help, showing a commitment to satisfaction. Overall, the policy is clear and fair, but shoppers should be aware of the return shipping costs and processing times.
Shades of Light ships most in-stock items via FedEx Ground, with delivery usually taking 3 to 5 business days. Shipping fees are based on order total and start at $9 for orders under $50, while oversized items ship by freight carrier with curbside delivery only and longer transit times. Shipping primarily covers the contiguous US, with quotes available for Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories.
Does Shades of Light have discount offers for customers?
Shades of Light offers a Designer Trade Program that gives exclusive savings and benefits to professionals like interior designers, home builders, contractors and architects who are working on residential projects. To join, you need to create an account and provide proof of your design business such as a business license or business card. This program does not extend to military, students or first responders.
Is there a program of major promotions at Shades of Light?
Shades of Light periodically offers promotions, with the most significant discounts typically occurring during major events such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and seasonal sales. During these periods, discounts are commonly around 20%, with some promotions reaching 30-40% depending on the category. Clearance items can reach 60% off or more.
